After Helene hit, we had several of our based pilots join together to fly donated items to a centralized airport in support of relief efforts. Kley Parkhurst, CJ Owens and Rich Whitney along with numerous volunteers and the phenomenal outpouring of support that radiated from a few Facebook posts asking for donations. To date, they have made 8 flights carrying a total of 9,000 lbs of donations and an additional 3 flights of animal rescues all within the span of three days. They will continue to make flights as the donations continue to arrive. With the help of Newman’s Trucking donating a tractor trailer to fill with donations, we hope to be able to load heavier items that the relief effort desperately needs and get that headed down the road as well.
